Battery Type Used: 4D & 8D (Trucks/Farm Equipment)

The Type 8178MR is a probe with a single green LED to be used on type 4D or 8D batteries.

The probe shaft length is 1-7/8" long and the unit is mounted in a push-in cell cap which is extensively used in these type of batteries.

The unit has a 12" black wire lead for connecting to the battery negative post and a red wire for connecting to the battery positive post. The cell selected is the second one from the battery negative post. LED is on at all times except when the water level is too low and it goes off.

Power drain is extremely small and of no concern. Other versions of this probe for 4D and 8D batteries include Alarms, Alerts and Combos.
