Battery Type Used: Group 24 & Group 27

The Type 6B238CO probe is the ultimate 6B marine battery probe because it has not only a green LED monitor function, but also a red flashing LED alarm.

This probe has a shaft length of 2-3/8" and is designed for mounting on Group 24 and Group 27 marine

batteries.

Installation is very simple: remove the cell cover which is next to the battery negative post, turn it over and drill a 1/8" diameter hole through the center of the middle vent cap. Turn the cover upright and insert the probe through the hole and use the stainless screw to attach it to the cover. Replace the cover on the battery and connect the black wire to the negative post and the red wire to the positive post. The green LED should come on immediately if there is sufficient battery acid. Lift up the cover so the probe is no longer in the acid and the green LED should go out and the red one should flash. Reinstall the cover.

Hydro-Eye also provides Type 6B probes already mounted in cell covers for Group 24 and Group 27 batteries.
