Battery Type Used: Group 24 & Group 27

The Type 6B238AT is the "Alert" version of the probes for Group 24 or Group 27 batteries.

It has a single blue LED which comes on in a flashing mode to warn the user that the battery should be charged and water added fairly soon.

It is mounted on the cell cover next to the battery negative post and has unequal wire lengths to prevent mounting it on the wrong cover.

Installation is easy: drill a 1/8" diameter hole through the center cell vent, insert the probe and mount it to the cover using the screw provided. The venting function of the cover will not be impaired.

This probe is very useful in battery installations on boats where access and visibility is restricted, such as in the engine compartment.

Hydro-Eye also provides Type 6B probes already mounted in cell covers for Group 24 and Group 27 batteries.
