leads are provided, with stainless screws for
attachment to the inter-cell straps linking
the cells of the battery. The black lead goes
to the outboard strap of the cell adjacent in
the direction of the battery negative post and
the red wire goes to the corresponding strap
of the cell on the opposite side. There are
6 volts between the two wire terminals.
The
probe will remain dormant until the acid level
in the center cell gets too low and water needs
to be added.
The
probe shaft length is 2" but other lengths
can be made. On industrial batteries and others
with single-point watering systems, this probe
is a real asset.
