Type 2B: Monitor - Alarm - Alert - Combo
 

Battery Type Used: L-16 / T-105

The Type 2B178AT probe has a flashing blue LED to warn the user that the battery should be charged and water added at the next opportunity.

On private golf carts this probe tells the owner to take it to the pro shop and get the battery serviced since most owners don't keep distilled water

Hydro-Eye Type 2B Alert probe

handy and their garage charger may be trickle charging the battery and losing water due to out-gassing. In a golf cart, with typically six deep cycle batteries, a single probe on one of the batteries is sufficient if they are all of the same quality.

Additional probes may also give more peace of mind since there are 18 cells in each battery system, as a minimum.

The Alert has two connecting wires, a black one for connecting to the negative post and a red one for the positive post of the monitored battery.
