Battery Type Used: L-16 / T-105

The Type 2B178MR probe has a green LED to effectively monitor the acid level in flooded golf cart and L-16 Deep Cycle batteries.

The length of the probe shaft is 1-7/8" which will set a monitor level of ½" above the plates in the cell.

Since the T-105 and the L-16 are 6

volt, three-cell batteries,the probe is installed by replacing the vented bayonet cell cap over the center cell and connecting the black wire to the bolt on the battery negative post. The wire has a 5/16" diameter ring terminal to do this. A similar red wire connects to the battery positive post. If the LED is out, then the acid level is too low and the battery should be charged first, then distilled water acid added. On construction equipment which uses L-16 batteries this probe is very useful, particularly since most construction equipment is from rental agencies and battery inspections are costly but necessary to maintain operation.
